How we helped a group of friends simplify their business relationship

We were approached by three friends who had recently established a company to provide an online marketplace for a specific trade. The friends were concerned that the stresses and strains of running a new innovative business would also put stresses and strains on their friendships. We worked closely with them to develop a Shareholders’ Agreement and to change their company’s constitution so that the major areas of potential frictions were identified and mechanisms put in place to reduce the possibility that any friction as the business grew and expanded wasn’t detrimental to their friendship and therefore their business.
